The Carmel Convent School & CESA- i Care Project was successfully inaugurated on the 6th of April 2018 at Bapu Dham Colony, Chandigarh.
From this day forward, the CESA members under the guidance of Carmel Convent School teachers took extracurricular classes every Friday from 3-5 pm for the students of Bapu Dham Colony.
The first class began with an enthusiastic welcome by the students and staff with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by cake cutting (yummy cake sponsored by Fete Patisserie) with Sister Supreeta and other Carmel Convent School representatives,
An awards ceremony to honor the best students of the class. They then sat to recite the prayer for the day to commence the session. The session consisted of learning the importance of education and the basics of critical thinking and how it helps one make better decisions in day-to-day life. The session also included creative and interactive games for the students.
The students range from classes 6 to 10 and are full of will and vigor to learn new things.
For Children’s day in 2019, the CESA members were welcomed very warmly by the girls. They narrated poems on Children’s Rights and spent an interactive evening with the CESA members. CESA distributed warm fleece jackets to the girls along with gifting chocolates, juices, and cookies.
From Mothers Day to Diwali, Christmas, and all festivals special arrangements were made to celebrate the events with the girls and give gifts from time to time. Special events were undertaken to help the girls learn about sensitive topics such as personal hygiene, health, self-protection, etc. Birthday cakes were arranged every month to celebrate the birthdays of the girls to make them feel special.
